Hey, y’all! Now that we’re on our way to a bright new year, I know I’m looking for more creative ways to spend my time. I love doing things that are relaxing, fun, creatively invigorating and have positive health benefits. So, let’s all add on to whatever resolutions made and aim to get more creative outlets this year. Here are my favorite creative hobbies to take up in the New Year

Take Up Painting

Painting is a great way to release your creative energy and relieve stress. You can try new things throughout the year with painting. You can change the media you work on, the materials you work with, and even switch it up by using different paint types

I took up painting when I was just a girl, and it’s a hobby that’s kept me sane throughout the many stages of life. When I got married, I traced (because I can’t draw worth a darn) an engagement photo and then painted my tracing and framed it for my husband as a surprise. Needless to say, he loved it.

Try Out Knitting

Knitting isn’t just for grannies anymore! Not only is this hobby a fun way to release stress from your brain, but it also creates fun and thoughtful gifts. I’m so over the days of buying my kids’ friends silly toys they’ll open and forget about. I’ve been making little mitten, scarf, and glove sets for ages.

Knitting is a touch-and-go hobby for me. I’ll get super into it for about four months—usually the chillier months—and then fall off the wagon for the rest of the year. There are tons of instructional videos you can find online, or you can simply find a fun crafting course near you. That’s a great way to get out and meet new friends with a shared interest and fun hobby!

Get into Flower Arranging

I, personally, have an addiction to homeware stores. All the cutesy decorations and crafting materials get me every time. I can’t even go in unsupervised without coming home with hundreds of new flowers, vases, and ribbons to make a new arrangement with. I make so many, I had to find a way to get rid of them. I found they make wonderful and unique hostess gifts rather than the stereotypical bottle of red.

Flower arranging is a stylish way to channel creative energy while having fun. All you need is a vase, some fake flowers, packing materials, and any decorations you may want on your specific arrangement.

So tell what other Creative Hobbies to Take Up in the New Year can you think of for the New Year.
