Fall Home Maintenance Checklist from North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Champagne Style Bare Budget

The best part of going from summer to fall is that it’s officially sweater weather. There’s nothing better than this—but it’s important to make that transition from summer to fall elsewhere, not just in your closet. Be proactive and follow this fall home maintenance checklist to prepare your home for all that autumn entails. Following this list will only make your life easier in the long run!

Clean Up the Exterior

You always want the exterior of your home to look presentable, but it’s even more important when you’re preparing for the fall season. Rake up any debris in the yard, clean out those gross gutters, and fix any cracks in the driveway. Doing these tasks allows you to prepare the area for the harsh weather realities that come with fall and winter, which may indeed do some damage to the space.

Change Batteries and Filters

Do y’all’s part in making sure everything in the house is prepared for the fall as well. Make sure all the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors have new and working batteries, and change any dirty HVAC filters. We just want everybody to be safe!

One Last Tune-Up for Summer Equipment

Going through the transition from summer to fall can put some excess stress on equipment. To make sure this isn’t the case for you, ensure all your machines, devices, and equipment are properly tuned up. For example, nobody wants to turn on their AC in the spring and realize it’s blowing hot air—be proactive and realize it’s time for a tune-up.

Test Winter Equipment

By trying out the winter equipment, you’re doing your diligence to make sure everything is ready to go. Nobody wants to encounter no heat because they didn’t check to make sure the furnace was running properly.

Taking all these steps will allow you to better prepare for the weather transition in addition to getting all your sweaters nicely ready in your closet. This fall home maintenance checklist will help y’all get everything in tip-top shape!
