Giving New Purpose to Blue Jeans

The other day a friend of mine sent me a video of something she thought was totally unique and guess what I did too? I quickly went back into the back room aka Maddie’s, my oldest daughter’s room, and went through the boxes that I had decided to give to charity. Somehow those boxes just haven’t made it the charity store yet. Looking through those boxes, I knew there was reason I had not been able to let these go, and I was right they are becoming part of my DIY posts. Free material for future projects.

So here is how I gave a pair of my old blue jeans new purpose. First find a pair of old jeans. It doesn’t matter what they look like you just need the top part.

old pairs of jeans

As you can see they don’t have to be fancy just a regular pair of blue jeans. The first thing you want to do is cut the legs off of the blue jeans.

I took a picture after I cut off one the legs so you can see what I am talking about. Here is the picture with both legs cut off.

So this is what the back of your jeans should look like. Now flip over to the front and cut everything but the waistband off. Your jeans will end up looking like this.

So now I know you probably wondering what this is going to be? Well here is your answer.

These jeans have now become an apron. As you notice there is makeup in the pockets but it can used for anything. Think of the possibilities. Use it in housecleaning, in the garden or even a yard sale apron. The possibilities are endless. Here is a picture of my beautiful daughter Mikaela modeling it.

As you can see she loves it. So tell me what other purposes have you found for your old jeans?
