It’s crazy how much life has changed in such a short period of time. I remember counting down the minutes until I got to go home and plop down on my couch. Now, I look for any excuse I can to get outside. Here’s an original guide on how to pass the time outdoors while social distancing. You’ll feel like a brand-new woman once you get a little fresh air.
Go Boating
I’ve never been happier that my best friend has a boat, y’all. Last weekend, she called me and asked if I wanted to take a cruise around the water. The only catch was I had to help her prepare for the summer boating season first. After we cleaned off her vessel and made sure all the parts were working okay, we hit the water. This trip on the sea looked a lot different from ones in the past, though. For starters, my girlfriend and I were the only ones on the boat. We didn’t invite other close friends like we used to. Both of us wore masks, as well. It was definitely a wild experience, but I appreciated the adventure so much.
Watch the Sunrise/Sunset
I’ve been an emotional wreck these last couple of weeks. The news is scary, y’all. It’s frightening that no one has the answers when it comes to COVID-19. One morning, I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. I turned off my television and drank my cup of joe outside. Let me tell y’all something—I haven’t felt that calm in a while. A tear even came to my eye as I watched the sunrise. It helped me put everything into perspective. Yes, I miss how things used to be. However, I know that what we’re doing is important, and I can hold out as long as I have to.
Walk Your Pup
My dog has never been so healthy, y’all. I’m sure Fido is so confused why I’ve been home for so long, but we’re both loving the quality time. I take my furry friend on a walk several times a day. Not only is this good exercise for both of us, but he’s exhausted by the end of the day, so we both get our beauty sleep at night. Of course, I wear my mask every time I step outside. I also pull my pup in the opposite direction if someone comes within six feet of us. Sure, our walks look a little different than they have in the past, but we both enjoy the journey.
Follow these tips on how to pass the time outdoors while social distancing if you’re dying to get out of your house. This summer will be a unique season in our lives. Yet, there are still ways to have fun. Look for any excuse to get outside and soak up the sun. Don’t forget to wear your mask while doing so.
