Makeup: Splurge and Save! Part Two

Here is another installment of Beauty on a Budget Splurge or Save.  I introduced to my amazing friend Catherine. I hope you have enjoyed the series so far. If you missed any make sure to check out her tips on skin, hair, and nail care. This is the second part of the makeup savings post.

Eye Shadow: Save!

Makeup: Splurge and Save! Part Two

Call me crazy but I absolutely LOVE Wet-N-Wild eye shadow! I buy this pack of 8 (Called “Petal Pusher”) and mix the colors together to create different looks. (YouTube videos are great if you don’t know much about how to blend eye shadow). Even though Wet-N-Wild is already a very affordable brand, they also have coupons a lot in the paper so you can save even more!

Eye-Liner: Splurge!

I use MAC fluid line eyeliner. It goes on super smooth, lasts all day, and I always get compliments on it. You have to buy the brush to put it on with, but it will last for years (remember to clean it regularly) and one of the little pots of a fluid line will last forever. I always end up replacing before it’s gone because I’m cautious about bacteria growing in products, especially if they go on your eyes!

Eye Bright Pencil Vs. ELF Shimmering Facial Whip: Save!

Makeup: Splurge and Save! Part Two

I love using an eye brightening pencil in the corners of my eyes and under my brows! I used to be loyal to Benefit’s “Eye Bright” pencil. However, it is hard to sharpen after a certain point so it’s frustrating that a lot of product is wasted. ELF has a shimmering facial whip that is only a fraction of the price and serves the same purpose. Plus it smells great!

 Mascara: Save!

I love, love, love Clinique mascara. When they have their “gift-with-purchase” promo, my mom always buys a ton and gives me the mascara samples. However as much as I love it, I can’t bring myself to spend the $$ on it anymore. I get by with Maybelline Great Last mascara, which you can get free with coupons sometimes (especially when Harris Teeter has Super Doubles)! I also recently tried the L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara. It really adds a lot of volumes!

Another trick I use is to take a Q-tip and apply baby powder to the corner lashes between the first and second coats. This gives a lot of extra “Oomph!” to your mascara!

Also, coconut oil is a great beauty secret for your eyes! If you rub a little on your lashes at night, it will make them grow longer! Also, helps to remove stubborn makeup.

Thanks for reading! And thanks again to Melissa for allowing me to write a guest post!

Check back tomorrow to read the conclusion to this amazing series.
