The Ultimate Cheat Sheet on Making Over a Phone Charger Using Washi Tape

Do you Washi? To be honest before I started spending time on Pinterest I did not know what Washi was. The Washi I am talking about is Washi Tape. I spent some time researching what exactly Washi Tape is. It is a Japanese Tape for packaging, crafts, and decor! These masking tapes are made of washi paper so they are semi transparent, have many different designs and come in many different colors. I have totally fallen in love with this tape. I have made many things with this. Having a house full of teenage girls you can imagine the cell phones that always need to be charged. You can also imagine the fights over whose has whose chargers. So I decided to find a way to make these fights happen less often. Plus who wants a plain white charger anyway? Here are the items you need to make your own unique phone charger.Plus I needed a different flair for my iPhone/ iPad as well.

The first thing you need you do is find a pattern you like. I found my Washi tape here.

steps to washi

First start off by wrapping on row of tape around the charger. I recommend it doing it one row at a time so you can make sure the patterns line up. Make a clean-cut with the scissors then repeat this step until all of the charger is covered. The end part was harder. You need to measure and then cut the strips to size. It was really very easy to make and now we all have unique chargers and there is no more fighting over who has whose chargers.

  1. I am new to the whole washi tape thing but this is super cute! I hate trying to keep up with all of our charger bases!

  2. That is a cute idea. Plus there are 6 of us in our home with tablets and most of them have different chargers, this is a good way to tell them apart.

  3. This looks like a cute little project. I am going to have to try this tape on some projects at home.
