These Boot Cuffs Are Made For Walking

Sweater boot cuffs on

Have you noticed that boot cuffs are all the rage? I have wanted to buy some, but I was not willing to spend 10 or more dollars on these. I thought they look easy enough to make, but sadly I am utterly incompetent when it comes to knitting or crocheting, so that was a no go. If you are not familiar with boot cuffs, they are a way to dress up your boots. They are very easy to make even if you are not a crafty person. Just follow these simple steps and you can have a pair of boot cuffs that will be more unique than those sold at stores.

You need these items to start:

Old Sweater Boot Cuffs

  • An Old Sweater
  • A Pair of Scissors

Yep, that is all that you will need. Look around your house and see if you can find an old sweater, I found the one I am using for this post in a giveaway pile of my girls. That is why the sweater is a little smaller. The size of the sweater that you will need will depend on how big your calves are. As you can see, I used a smaller sweater because my two older girls are very petite. Even though they are 19 and soon to be 17 they both weigh less than 100 pounds so their legs are very skinny.

Now that you have a sweater picked out take your scissors and cut the bottom part of the sleeves from the sweater. (Save the rest of sweater for another project.)This will be your cuff. Slide the cuff over your leg and put on your boots. Yep folks it is that easy. Just look at the result.
