Do y’all remember back in the day when you had to go to the store just to print a photo of your cat? I mean, your family portrait… Anyways, now you can print them at home with your inkjet printer. As long as you remember these tips for printing photos at home, your photos will look wonderful!
Before Doing Anything, You Should Calibrate Your Computer Display
I know, I know it sounds complicated, but hang in there. Calibrating enhances your monitor to show the most accurate picture based on the file you’re printing. In other words, it’ll help you make sure the photo you’re printing appears how you expect it to print.
The Paper Makes a Huge Difference
There are way too many paper options, so instead of using standard printer paper, use a stronger paper meant to hold the ink. Some of the best that I can recommend include:
- Canon Photo Paper Pro Platinum
- CanonInk Photo Paper Plus Glossy
- Epson Premium Photo Paper
Double Check That Your Printer Is Set up Correctly
In some cases, the factory default settings that a printer comes with out of the box are enough for good prints. But we don’t want good photos, we want great photos, right? I know I do. So, most printers are going to come out of the box with their standard quality settings, but y’all should boost it up to the best setting. It’s going to take longer, but it’ll be well worth the cat photo!
You Don’t Need the Original Manufacturer’s Ink Cartridges
One last thing— printer cartridges are offensively expensive, and they never last long enough. So, instead of spending half your savings on the brand new ones from the manufacturer’s, get remanufactured ink cartridges from a reliable seller. They’re usually just as good as the new ones, but they’re way cheaper. Y’all can thank me later. When you go to print the photos of your family or furry friends, don’t forget the tips for printing photos at home. It may take a few tries to get the prints right, but when you get them, you’re going to look like a pro with all those awesome photos printed!
