Tips for Creating a Family-Friendly Community

I loved where I grew up, y’all. It was the perfect community where I could ride my bike up and down the street without a care in the world. If this vision is your dream, read about these tips for creating a family-friendly community.

Keep It Clean

A community will feel homier if y’all keep it clean. Consider starting community cleanup programs that incentivize folks to keep things tidy. Perhaps hang signs around town that encourage people to throw away the trash. It’d be even better if you started a recycling program to help the environment. The kiddos can even get involved by picking things up on their way to school or the park.

Build a Playground

Another tip for creating a family-friendly community is to build a playground. Going to the park was my favorite activity as a kid, y’all. I used to jump off the swings and see how far I could land on the ground. If you want your children to have the same experience, consider building a sustainable playground. Things can be eco-friendly, and the kiddos can still have a blast this summer.

Crossing Guards and Friendly Neighbors

The number one thing that I loved about my community while growing up was the friendliness. People were always waving at me as I cruised down the street on my bike, and you could always borrow a cup of sugar when needed. If you want to create a family environment, start by being a more open neighbor. Wave at people and ask how they’re doing when you see them. Also, think about adding crossing guards to the city’s payroll. Crossing guards can help keep the children safe as they go around town.

Every parent wants to live in a family-friendly community. The best way to do this is to create such an environment when you move in. You can do this by being friendly, keeping your neighborhood clean, and building a playground. Y’all will have a blast living in a community like the one I grew up in.
