4 Unique Ways To Simplify Your Home Décor

There’s nothing worse than the frustration that comes with feeling bored of your home décor and overall layout. Personally, I think spending loads of money every few years to change your entire home aesthetic is a huge hassle, especially if you’re on a budget. However, by creating a timeless minimal aesthetic, your décor will never go out of style. Check out these unique ways to simplify your home décor and create a space you’re proud of.

Stick to Two or Three Colors

Y’all already know that too many colors within your home design can make it feel busy. I like to combat the chaotic feeling by sticking to two or three colors in my home décor. For example, your walls can be one color, your furniture should be another, and y’all can use another color as an accent for décor items or curtains. When you use fewer colors, you’ll be able to achieve a clean, sleek look you won’t grow tired of.

Use Sheer or Light-Colored Curtains

Using sheer or light-colored curtains rather than dark ones is one of the easiest ways to brighten a room and simplify your style. Neutral-colored curtains are incredibly easy to match or complement and provide adequate privacy. Believe it or not, I’ve found some of the best curtains and window coverings at bargain stores and second-hand shops. Check your local shops and save some money, y’all!

Consider Dual-Purpose Items

Another way to achieve the minimalist style is to find dual-purpose items to save space and prevent clutter from building up around the house. For example, many ottomans work as a footstool and a storage compartment all in one! Furthermore, creating a minimalist style with contemporary furniture is the ultimate way to simplify your home décor without sacrificing a classy design.

Steer Clear of Clutter

Clutter is difficult to avoid, especially if you live in a smaller home. However, you can de-clutter your home by removing old décor and furniture pieces you no longer love. I like to sell my stuff and then use the money to purchase furniture and decorations I know I’ll use. Unfortunately, too many things on the wall make a room feel cluttered; therefore, y’all should stick to minimal wall décor for a more open concept.

I hope y’all enjoy these unique ways to simplify your home décor as much as I do. Creating a classy space doesn’t have to include loads of decorations and fancy furniture. In fact, less is more, and the minimalist aesthetic never goes out of style.
