5 Tips for Getting Ready for a Big Night Out
It’s hard to find time for yourself when you’re a mom and a working woman. Y’all know me; I’m always looking for ways to glam up and have a good time! Sometimes, a fun night out on the town is the best way to unwind after a long week. Use these five tips for getting ready for a big night out to make the most out of your evening plans!
Make a Plan
Make sure all your ducks are in a row before you go out for the night. Having a plan will help ease any anxiety you might feel while you’re away from your home and family. Before you hit the town, ask yourself these questions, and make sure you’ve covered all your bases:
- Will I need a safe ride home?
- Have I booked a babysitter?
- Do I need reservations for wherever I’m going?
Set the Mood
I’m all about building the right energy to frame the kind of day I want to have. You are your own biggest hype-man, so pump yourself up with some good vibes to start the night strong! Make a killer playlist, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage, and dance like no one is watching while you’re getting ready for a big night out.
Prep That Skin
You need a good, clean surface to work with before creating art of any kind. In this case, you are the artwork, and your skin is the canvas! Give yourself a solid foundation to work with by breaking out your best soaps and skin-care products during your pre-night shower.
Hair and Makeup
Doing my hair and makeup is my favorite part of getting ready because it’s the perfect time to get creative. Keep your outfit ideas in mind, and create a matching look that also expresses who you are. As far as hair goes, there are plenty of different types of hair extensions on the market that can turn the drabbiest of ’dos into a full-blown masterpiece!
Choose an Outfit
Y’all, the most stressful part of the pre-evening prep is choosing the right outfit. Rifling through my wardrobe always ends with every piece of clothing that I own strewn across my room. Whatever your process is, pick a ’fit that’s appropriate for the occasion, comfortable to move around in, and makes you feel like the most fabulous version of yourself.
That’s it! Getting ready to go out should be just as enjoyable as what you have planned. Whether you’re out with your friends, your spouse, or letting loose on your own, remember to have fun and make memories that will last a lifetime.
