Forgotten Parts of Your Home You Need To Deep Clean
Each home has little nooks and crannies that you clean and take care of every day. You vacuum regularly, wipe down countertops, and clean windows, but there are other hidden parts of your home that end up neglected over time. Here are some of those parts of your home that you desperately need to give a deep clean to keep them in working order and keep the dirt and dust away.
The Fridge and Pantry
A neglected part of your home that is sitting right underneath your nose is your kitchen space, particularly the fridge and the pantry. It doesn’t make sense for these areas to become dirty, as they are closed off from the outside world. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and if neglected for too long, the mess quickly piles up. You should regularly clean your fridge and pantry, tossing out expired food and donating food that your family will not eat. A nice wipe-down is also crucial as dust and food scraps can quickly accumulate.
Outdoor Areas
While you may not use your outdoor spaces every day, that doesn’t mean they are not slowly becoming dirtier. These items likely degrade even faster than their indoor counterparts, as they suffer from constant harsh light, wind, dirt, and pests. It is important to regularly clean these outdoor items, such as your hot tub. If not cleaned, cushions can quickly stain, hot tubs can end up full of bacteria and clogged filters, and outdoor appliances can end up nonfunctional. Give some care to these items, and you will reward yourself when you want to go outdoors again as they are bright, clean, and ready for use.
Your Mattress
How can something so close to you that you use every day not be clean? Well, because you use it every day, it can quickly become filthy. You should clean sheets and pillowcases about every week, but the mattress will also need a regular deep clean. It sits there for years, collecting dirt, dust, sweat, and dead skin. You should clean your mattress a few times a year, giving it good vacuuming to try and get everything out of there. On top of this, consider rotating your bed so that it can get even wear and tear.
These were the forgotten parts of your home you need to give a deep clean, and they will surely thank you. Many of these items and areas just need a little bit of care and maintenance here and there, and they will thrive. Give them some time and attention, and your home will thank you.
