Having a home is excellent, but lacking any interest in improving its appearance can send others looking the other way. In other words, if you let the exterior of your home go and don’t care about the upkeep, you might have a difficult time selling later on. I don’t want this to happen to y’all. To help breathe new life into your landscaping, including that lovely terrace, here are easy ways to revive your porch this spring.
Repaint the Door and Siding
The first evident approach I took to reviving my front porch was repainting the siding and door to a fun color and then adorning it with a wreath (this part’s optional!).
As I got further into the process, I realized that repainting my door and siding really started bringing the patio back from the dead. I was so happy to see one section of my home I can look at and smile because it looks so good, y’all.
Don’t be afraid to add some color—like a bright blue, a neutral yellow tone, or white with some door trimmings.
Add In Additional Furniture
As much as we’d deny it, you and I have always wanted a second living room, den, or a four-seasons room. Let me tell you, having furniture out on my deck has been the greatest investment I’ve made. It’s even been a joy being able to wind down outside with a dessert, good conversation, and the stars.
There are different outdoor fabrics to use; for example, I have polyester cushions that are comfortable and easy to clean. My favorite place to be is now the porch.
Update the Lighting
Even if you’re simply looking to liven up your space with better lighting choices, don’t forget to choose lightbulbs that help save more energy bills.
Using different designs and even colors can help give the porch more of a personality. My favorite designs have been oversized chandeliers; they light up the space and make the ceiling feel a little higher.
Add a Ceiling Fan
To help circulate air better as it gets warmer, you want to have a ceiling fan added to meet your needs and even modernize your porch.
A ceiling fan helps break down the heat during the summer and even moves clockwise during the winter, so the porch is not just a temporary sitting area. Adding a ceiling, among others, is one of my favorite porch essentials to increase curb appeal.
Decorating the porch is a fun activity to do with family and one I’ve certainly made a habit to keep up with it throughout every season. Today, I encourage everyone to do the same.
