It is Good To Set Goals

This past January after the first weeks I decided to set some goals for myself for the upcoming year. Some of these goals are very lofty but some of them are things that I could do if it wasn’t for my own fear holding me back. Ever felt like that, sometimes we are own worst enemy. This past weekend I was able to cross three of my goals off my list. The first was to attend a blogging conference. Although this conference wasn’t big it was better for me to start off small and to go to one that I could afford. This conference was just for bloggers in the North and South Carolinas and to say I had a blast was an understatement. I also finally got to meet Sarah from Dirty Fish Designs who did my awesome blog buttons for me. She is so sweet. She is currently working on another project for me.

Another goal I was able to accomplish was to pay for the whole weekend with money I earned myself just from the blog.

This was my bedroom for the weekend. The girls had a separate bedroom in the suite.

I was able to get an amazing hotel room at the Sonesta ES Suites in Charlotte in exchange for a review and my older two girls and I had a blast. I not only paid for dinner for two nights, lunch for one day, but I also paid for the 4 tickets to the conference, gas for the drive as well as we were able to go shopping. That is what I call an  accomplishment.

The last thing I was able to cross off my list was and still is a big fear of mine driving a major interstate. I prayed that God would put a hedge of protection around the car as we started on our 4 hour trek with one stop and that was in Greensboro to pick up my oldest daughter at college.

I took advantage of the fact I had two other drivers for the weekend. Maddie drove the interstate like a pro.

After we picked Maddie up she drove the 2 hours left to Charlotte. Normally her driving makes me a little nervous but I wasn’t nervous at all.

I am so happy that I was able to cross off three goals on my list but after this weekend I have to add another. After seeing the pictures from the weekend I decided that I totally need to lose some weight so I am on a journey with weight and I am setting my goals for it as well. This will be a separate goal sheet. But I know if I can set my mind to it I can do it.

So tell me what goals have you achieved this year? What goals are still left for you to achieve?

  3. Goals are so important to have, otherwise life gets a little stagnant. I am glad you had a great time at the conference and have some new goals to look forward to!
