Your Kitchen

One big factor in your enjoyment of cooking is the coking environment, aka, the kitchen. There are many ways you can make the kitchen a more pleasant space to be in without an entire refurb. These things include having a place to sit. In smaller kitchens, this can be an issue, so it may need to invest in some space-saving things, like a table that lifts up from all the walls and foldaway chairs. Other things you can do are fix any obvious issues, have some music playing, and repaint the walls. Get a new colorful backsplash, change the faucets, handles, etc., put up some floating shelves and display some ornaments, and have a few plants. There are many methods to make the kitchen a more enjoyable space, so try this and see how you feel.

Food Themes

A fun way to get more enjoyment out of cooking is to explore cooking from around the world. One way to do this is to have food theme nights. So, you could have Mexican meals on a Monday and Korean on a Friday, etc. This way you’ll have to plan a bit about cuisine from all over the world and start developing a list of food that you can cook from these places. If you have children, you could get them involved and help you choose a theme. You could learn more about the country you are exploring and have conversational topics around these countries. Then it is educational and fun.

Try New and Unusual Things

Another way to get back into the habit of cooking is to try new things. You could go to the supermarket and pick up unusual vegetables, ones you have never tried before. Get the kids to pick some too, and find a recipe around this vegetable. Again this is a way to learn about new vegetables and develop a new ability. Other things you can do is buy a lot of different spices and start mixing your open. How about going to the library and finding the oldest cooking book you can find and creating some meals from the recipes in there? There are plenty of great recipes online too, like this oysters rockefeller recipe. If cooking every day is difficult for you, then how about cooking in bulk at the weekend, freezing that, and then using that when you don’t have time? If you are determined to eat more healthily, there are plenty of ways you can achieve this.
